THE BASICS
HOW HYALURONIC ACID FILLERS WORK
Restylane and Juvéderm fillers are made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance your skin already produces to hold moisture and volume. Each product is a gel with a different firmness, and that is why one filler is not right for every area.
Softer, more flexible gels suit areas that move a lot, like the lips. Firmer gels provide structure where you need lift, like the cheeks and chin.
Results right away
You see the difference when you leave, with final results once any swelling settles.
Reversible
HA fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if you ever want to adjust.
Built-in comfort

It depends on the product and the area. Lip filler typically lasts about 6 to 12 months because lips move constantly. Fillers placed deeper, such as in the cheeks and chin, often last around a year or longer. Your metabolism also plays a role.

Wrinkle relaxers soften lines caused by muscle movement, like forehead lines and crow's feet. Fillers restore volume and shape, like fuller lips, lifted cheeks, or softer smile lines. Many patients use both.

Most patients feel pressure and brief pinches. We numb the area as needed, and most of the fillers we use contain lidocaine for added comfort.

Most people return to normal activities the same day. Swelling, tenderness, and bruising are possible and usually fade within a few days to two weeks, depending on the area.
