DYSPORT® · BOTOX® COSMETIC · PEARL DISTRICT, PORTLAND
SOFTER LINES. SAME FACE.
A neuromodulator relaxes the specific muscles that fold your skin when you frown or squint. Dosed to your anatomy rather than to a chart, the lines soften and your expressions stay recognizably yours.

WHY STYLE
The injectors other injectors learn from.
Dysport is a Galderma product, and our providers are selected by Galderma as national trainers in its Aesthetic Injector Network. When injectors from other practices are taught neuromodulator technique, our team is on the other side of the table.
Neuromodulators are the most commissioned treatment in aesthetics and the easiest to do adequately. The gap between adequate and good is not the product in the vial — it's reading how your face actually moves and dosing each muscle for that, which is exactly the judgment a training role demands you be able to explain.
Dose per muscle, not per face
A heavy corrugator and a light frontalis need different numbers. Treating them the same is how people end up with a dropped brow or a forehead that won't lift.
Injection points mapped to your movement
We watch you frown, raise, and squint before anything is drawn up. Placement follows your pattern, not a diagram of an average face.
Softened, not switched off
Leaving deliberate movement is a dosing decision made in advance. Tell us where you want to keep expression and we'll plan the dose around it.
DYSPORT OR BOTOX
TWO GREAT PRODUCTS. DIFFERENT BEHAVIOR.
Individual results vary, and neither product is better in the abstract. Which one we recommend depends on the area, your muscle strength, and how you've responded to treatment before.
| Dysport® | Botox® Cosmetic | |
|---|---|---|
| Generic name | abobotulinumtoxinA | onabotulinumtoxinA |
| Made by | Galderma Laboratories, L.P. | Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company |
| FDA-approved cosmetic use | Temporary improvement in the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults under 65 years of age | Moderate to severe glabellar lines, lateral canthal lines (crow's feet), and forehead lines in adults |
| Onset | Median time to response of 2–3 days; some people notice change as early as day 1 | Allergan reports results may start in 24–48 hours, with full effect at 30 days |
| Duration | May last up to 5 months per treatment | May last up to 4 months |
| Units | Not interchangeable. Galderma's labeling states the dose of Dysport “is not the same as the dose of any other botulinum toxin product and cannot be compared to the dose of any other product.” A per-unit price comparison between the two products is therefore meaningless — ask what your whole treatment costs. | |
| Where each tends to suit | Often chosen for broader areas such as the forehead, and by people who want to see movement change sooner | Long track record across all three approved upper-face areas; often chosen where very precise, contained placement is the priority |
| Worth telling your injector | Which product you had last time, how many units, how fast it came on, and how long it held. That history is the most useful thing you can hand a new injector — it shapes both the product choice and the dose. | |
WHERE IT WORKS
THE MUSCLES BEHIND THE LINES.
Our providers are selected by Galderma, the maker of Sculptra, as national trainers in the Galderma Aesthetic Injector Network. When licensed injectors from other practices want to learn Sculptra technique, they come to Style Aesthetics.
Sculptra is a product where the best outcomes track with the plan behind it: how the product is reconstituted, what plane it's placed in, how much goes where, and how the series is paced across your face over time. That judgment is what we teach and it’s what you’re getting when you book with us.
FRONTALIS
Horizontal forehead lines
The only muscle that lifts your brows, which is why it's under-dosed on purpose. Over-treating it is the classic cause of a heavy brow.
ORBICULARIS OCULI
Crows feet
The fan of lines at the outer eye when you smile. Dosed conservatively here so your smile still reaches your eyes.
CORRUGATOR & PROCERUS
Frown lines between the brows
The vertical "11s" that make a resting face read as irritated. The area both Dysport and Botox Cosmetic are FDA-approved to treat.
*Other areas are sometimes treated with neuromodulators outside of these approved indications. We'll discuss whether that applies to you, and what it means, during your consultation rather than advertising it here.
THE ARC OF TREATMENT
Build on purpose, over months.
Sculptra is a poor choice for an event next weekend and a strong one for the version of your face you want next year. Here's the real sequence.
VISIT ONE
Consult and movement assessment
We watch your face move, agree on which areas to treat and how much expression you want to keep, then treat the same day if you're ready.
DAY OF
Treatment
A few minutes of tiny injections. Small bumps settle within the hour. Most people go straight back to work.
DAYS 1-3
It begins
Dysport's median response is 2–3 days; Allergan reports Botox Cosmetic may start in 24–48 hours. Movement softens before the lines do.
DAY 14
Full effect and review
This is when we judge the result. Come back and we'll assess it in person — adjustments, if any are needed, happen at this visit.
MONTHS 4 - 5
Maintenance
Botox Cosmetic may last up to 4 months, Dysport up to 5. We'll set your interval from how you actually metabolize it, not a calendar rule.
OFTEN A GOOD FIT
Lines between the brows, at the outer eyes, or across the forehead that show at rest
A resting face that reads as angry or tired to other people
You've had toxin elsewhere and didn't like the result — often a dosing problem, not a product one
You want prevention: softening the movement that etches lines in over years
You want to look less drawn without changing the shape of your face
NOT A CANDIDATE
Allergy to any botulinum toxin product or to cow's milk protein (Dysport)
A neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome or ALS
Infection or skin condition at the planned injection site
Pregnant or breastfeeding
You want deep static folds erased — those need a different tool, and we'll say so

QUESTIONS
WHAT PATIENTS ASK US.
-
Not unless you ask to be. How much movement you keep is set by the dose and where it's placed, and it's a decision we make with you before treating — including which expressions you want left alone. If you've been over-treated somewhere else, tell us what happened; it tells us a lot about how you respond.
-
It depends on the area and on your muscle strength, and if you've had one before, on how it behaved. Dysport's median onset is 2–3 days and it's labeled to last up to 5 months; Botox Cosmetic covers three approved upper-face areas and Allergan reports up to 4 months. We'll make a recommendation at the consultation and explain why.
-
The injections themselves take a few minutes. Expect small raised bumps that settle within about an hour, and the possibility of a pinpoint bruise. Stay upright for four hours, skip the gym and facials that day, and don't rub the treated areas.
-
The needles are very fine. Most people describe it as brief pinches. We can use topical numbing or ice if you'd like it, and it's worth asking for if you're nervous — tense muscles are harder to treat accurately.
-
Because that's when the result is fully in and it's the only honest time to evaluate it. If something needs adjusting we'd rather find it ourselves than have you live with it for four months.
-
Botulinum toxin products carry an FDA boxed warning about the effects spreading beyond the injection site — the full text is at the bottom of this page and your provider will go through it with you. Treatment should be performed by a trained, licensed injector who knows the anatomy, which is the argument for choosing carefully rather than by price.
NEXT STEP
Start with the consultation.
If you've been treated before, bring the details — product, units, and what you liked or didn't. It's the single most useful thing you can hand a new injector.

Warning: distant spread of toxin effect
The effects of botulinum toxin products may spread from the area of injection to produce symptoms consistent with botulinum toxin effects. These may include asthenia, generalized muscle weakness, double vision, drooping eyelids, difficulty swallowing, hoarseness or change in voice, slurred speech, loss of bladder control, and breathing difficulties. These symptoms have been reported hours to weeks after injection. Swallowing and breathing difficulties can be life threatening and there have been reports of death. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop any of these symptoms.
